Part-Time Shift Supervisor

Consider joining our amazing team at Knead Community Cafe as a Shift Supervisor. We are a unique nonprofit café that brings all members of our community together to work towards alleviating hunger insecurity.

This position is approximately 18-25 hours per week at a starting rate of $14/hr. Hours are primarily day shift Tuesday- Saturday with some special/evening events required.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Helps to create a warm, welcoming environment for all guests by promoting an excellent customer service experience.

  • Ensures that Knead Community Café’s mission is understood by all and embodies our nonprofit's values and commitment to the community.

  • Oversee daily cafe operations, including opening/closing procedures. Assumes lead cashier duties on shift and is responsible for following accurate cash handling procedures.

  • Oversees and trains teams of Volunteers at front of house and takes a vested interest in their well being, making their service a pleasant experience.

  • Helps to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the entire facility and enforces that food safety procedures are always followed.

  • Performs all other duties assigned by the General Manager necessary in daily café operations.

 

Qualifications 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Passion for food and making a difference in the community

  • Team player with a positive attitude

  • Experience with POS system preferred

  • Ability to multi-task, must be reliable and trustworthy

  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time (6+hrs)

  • Ability to move freely around the café to attend to needs of guests and staff

  • Ability to reach, bend, twist, lift, stair climb, walk on ramp and handle light equipment, supplies and other objects weighing up to 30 pounds
